Montessori Children's House at Chapel of the Cross

"I hear, and I forget.  I see, and I remember.  I do, and I understand."
Maria Montessori, The Absorbant Mind

The Montessori Children's House at Chapel of the Cross is now enrolling 3 and 4 year olds for this school year.  MCH is located in the beautifully restored former parsonage house on the Chapel of the Cross property in Madison, MS.  The school is open August - May.  We offer half day, full day, kindergarten and before school care.  After school care is offered by Children's Academy of Madison.  They will come to the school daily to pick up children enrolled in this service.

The goal of Montessori education is to encourage independence, love of learning, and a positive sense of self in a prepared environment.  Each child is encouraged to function independently at his/her own development rate.

In the traditional three year program of 3 to 6 year olds, the child is exposed to areas that enhance independent thought, concentration, order, control, and creativity.  In this environment, the child has the opportunity to develop academically, socially, and emotionally, to his/her full potential and to become the person he/she is to become.
